CMCA Middle South Fly Health Program (PNG)

Client: OK Tedi Development Foundation

The Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) Middle South Fly Health Program (CMSFHP) is a health program in Western Province, Papua New Guinea (PNG). Funded by the CMCA portion of the Western Province Peoples’ Dividend Trust Fund, facilitated by Ok Tedi Development Foundation and implemented by Abt JTA Asia Pacific, the program works in partnership with current health care providers to improve health outcomes for people in the CMCA areas of the Middle and South Fly districts of Western Province. The main goal of the program is to support health providers to achieve the PNG National Health Plan and Western Province Health Plan targets.

Key areas of operation for the program include a focus on improving maternal and child health, action to improve health infrastructure and logistics, reductions in communicable diseases, planning for diseases outbreaks and community engagement for community driven health initiatives. Our team of qualified health professionals work with our partners to increase the number of outreach patrols, providing on the ground service delivery and assistance to remote based health staff. We also support health training initiatives to up-skill health staff and promote the use of current and evidence-based protocols.
